A very worthy target, which I am happy I have now been able to give it all the attention it deserves!
After hours and hours of imaging work done on the Veil Nebula over the past month or so, the image is now complete! This image comprises a total of 90 hours of exposure time, in a nine-panel mosaic with 180 exposures, each 30 minutes long. The sheer amount of detail visible is absolutely stunning, and is something I was surprised at when panning around the image, particularly when viewed on Flickr. No doubt this is thanks to the extraordinary night sky around e-EyE but also the 3nm narrowband filters used. The image itself took little post-processing to get right, with the vast majority of the time spent pre-processing and constructing the mosaics.
A very worthy target, which I am happy I have now been able to give it all the attention it deserves!
