My PixInsight tutorial update continues including features introduced in version 1.8.5. This time, I have updated my tutorial on colour-calibrating images to include the new process PhotometricColorCalibration, which works by plate solving your image and determining a true white reference for it. The tutorial has actually been updated to work with different example data as the previous example data was not doing a good job of demonstrating the effects of colour-calibration, in my opinion. As colour-calibration still benefits from using BackgroundNeutralization at the beginning and SCNR at the end, I introduced PhotometricColorCalibration in-between, after ColorCalibration as a new section. It is highlighted as an alternative to ColorCalibration. You can access the tutorial via this direct link.

Hi Kayron: thanks for updating the tutorials. Regarding PCC: if I perform Background Neutralization (BN) first, then apply PCC, I get a green hue, which does go away with a second application of BN after PCC. If I use on;t PCC and check the BN checkbox within the PCC process..picture comes out ok. Your tutorial looks llike you performed BN first, then PCC (without BN checked within PCC process?)? Did you get aberrant backgrounds?
