Tweet Remote Control has now been updated to version 1.5. This is again a very good update to improve Tweet Remote Control and extend its capabilities.
Version 1.5 adds two features requested by Anat Ruangrassamee via e-mail - support for control of Paramount mounts via TheSkyX and a tweet command to simply ping Tweet Remote Control to check that it is running. I am extremely grateful to Anat for his constant support regarding TheSkyX Java script commands and Beta testing version 1.5 as I made changes on a daily basis.
The importance of the addition of TheSkyX support cannot be understated - anyone using any mount with TheSkyX can make use of Tweet Remote Control to park, find the home position (if supported) and check the status of their connected mount. This of course includes those using Paramount mounts (who would most likely be using TheSkyX by default).
Finally, some extra improvements were made to Tweet Remote Control. Namely, every ASCOM mount and roof command now has a five-minute timeout on equipment status changes, to avoid getting stucking waiting. The command to restart TeamViewer has also been given a five-second delay between closing and starting TeamViewer, adding to stability.
In the next version, I intend to add custom tweet commands that the user can define to run programs/scripts on their computer. This can potentially provide unlimited capability as users can define what new tweet commands truly do.
If you are interested in downloading Tweet Remote Control or updating your installation, please head over to the official page for it. Remember that if you are updating your installation, that you should first uninstall the previous version(s) before installing the new version. Finally, if you find a bug or would like to request a new feature, please feel free to contact me.
