A long stint of clear nights around the New Moon allowed me to make quick work of this beautiful target located at the bottom of the IC1805 Heart Nebula - the NGC896 Fish Head Nebula. I had previously imaged the entire IC1805 Heart Nebula with my other telescope, so I wanted this new image to be a narrowband image of just this small area.
The image consists of a 2-panel mosaic with 60 hours of total exposure time in 120 exposures, each 30 minutes long. This is essentially 20 exposures per filter, per mosaic panel, for the three narrowband filters. I played around for a while with CurvesTransformation to get the hue shift right for SCNR to finish the job and give me a good blend between orange and blue. As I have learned with previous images, I favoured a small amount of noise reduction over too much of it, in order to keep the image sharp rather than blurred.
